Practical course at UCEM - TEM sample preparation course part II, 9-13 April 2018
TEM sample preparation course part II – Chemical fixation, high pressure freezing, freeze substitution and plastic embedding methods including practice on ultra-microtome sectioning, immunogold labeling, staining, TEM imaging and an introduction to FIB-SEM Deadline for registration: 15th of March 2018
Please, have a look at the methods that will be covered, since this course focus only on these methods. And, make sure you have time to participate the entire course week, full days.
Since the fixation and plastic embedding takes time, you should bring one of your test-samples to Agnieszka Monday 26th of March, and a new test-sample on the first course day, April 9th.
Pre-requisite criterion: EM Basic/Practical course or existing TEM user. We will preferentially select students who like to work with their own sample, and work with EM sample preparation and EM imaging in their future project. Our lab space limits the number of participants to 8.
Please write a short project description, a motivation and what sample you would like to prepare during the course. Please submit an application by March 15th to firstname.lastname@example.org.
If we have too many applications we will make a selection depending on your motivation and how your project fits the course aims.
Students attending all theoretical and practical parts of the course, will receive a certificate for 1,5 hp.
